tan (v.) [tXn] (使)曬黑, (使)曬成古銅色

EX: Janet tanned quickly in the hot sun.
      珍妮特在烈日下很快就曬黑了。

tan (n.) 古銅色
﹣a light yellowish brown colour.
EX: All the people who went abroad for their holidays came back with nice tans.
      到國外度假的人在回來時都曬出漂亮的古銅色皮膚。



glow (n.) [glo] 熾熱, 光亮, 光輝; 容光煥發, 紅潤氣色
[the] a soft light from something burning without flames or smoke.
EX: There was a dull red glow in the night sky abore the steel works.
      夜晚煉鋼廠的天空閃著暗紅色的光。
[of] the feeling and/or signs of heat and colour in the body and face, eg. after exercise or because of good health.
EX: His face glowed all over with pleasure.
      他高興得滿面紅光。



risk (n.) [rIsk] 危險(性), 風險
[of] (a) danger; (a) possibility that something harmful or undesirable may happen.
EX: Fishermen face a lot of risks in their daily lives.
      漁民在日常生活中常常面對許多危險。

risk (v.) 冒險採取(某種行動以改善狀況等)
[+obj/Ving] to take (an action that may lead to danger or loss) in the hope that things will go well.
EX: In the present circumstances they are unlikely to risk an election.
      在當前的形勢下,他們不會冒險舉行大選。



lotion (n.) [‘loJFn] 外用塗劑, 洗劑, 化妝水, 乳液
﹣a liquid mixture, used on the skin or hair to make it clean and healthy or less painful.
EX: Put some lotion on your sunburn.
      往你曬傷的地方塗些護膚液。
