challenge (n.) [‘tJXlIndK] 挑戰性, 挑戰, 艱鉅的事
﹣(something with) the quality of demanding competitive action, interest or thought.
EX: One of the biggest challenges facing the present government is that of creating new jobs.
      現政府所面臨的最大挑戰之一是創造新的就業機會。



entertain (v.) [,EntF’ten]
使快樂, 使有興趣, 娛樂(人)
﹣to amuse and interest, esp. by a public performance; keep the attention of (people watching or listening).
EX: The play failed to entertain its audience.
      這齣戲不受觀眾的歡迎。



compete (v.) 
[kFm’pit] 競爭, 爭奪
[with, against, for] to try to win something in competition with someone else.
EX: She and her sister are always competing for attention.
      她和她姐姐總是爭著出風頭。



take a turn (idiom) (情況的)轉變, 變化
﹣a change from an existing situation or condition; new development.
EX: I'm afraid she's take a turn for the worse.
      恐怕她病情惡化了。

tack turn (idiom) 輪流
﹣a place or appointed time in a fixed order, that gives one the chance or duty to do something.
EX: He asked each of us in turn.
      他輪流向我們發問。
EX: It's my turn to drive next.
      下次該輪到我開車了。



obstacles (n.) 
[‘AbstFkL] 障礙(物), 妨礙, 阻礙, 干擾
(to) something which prevents action, movement or success.
EX: She felt that her family were an obstacle to her work.
      她覺得家庭對她的工作是個障礙。



crawl (v.)

﹣to move slowly with the body close to the dround, or on the hands and knees.
EX: The baby crawled across the room.
      那個嬰兒從房間的這邊爬到那邊。



mud (n.) 
[mVd] 泥, 爛泥
﹣very wet earth in a sticky mass.

muddy (adj.) 
[‘mVdI] 沾滿泥的, 泥濘的
﹣covered with or containing mud.
EX: Take off those muddy boots.
      把沾了泥的靴子脫下來吧!



costume (n.) 
[‘kAstjum] 戲服, 服裝
﹣the clothes typical of a certain period, country, or profession, esp. as worn in plays.
EX: They are all dressed in national costume.
      他們都穿著民族服裝。



albeit (fml.) 
[Cl’biIt] 儘管, 雖然 = even though / although
EX: It was a very important albeit small mistake.
      這個錯誤雖小, 但很嚴重。
